A landmark gathering for ubiquitous and wearable computing
In October 2025, the combined ACM International Symposium on Wearable Computing (ISWC) and the ACM International Joint Conference on Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp) convened at Aalto University in Espoo, marking a milestone event for the global research community. Nearly 800 researchers, designers, and developers from around the world gathered to share breakthroughs, foster collaboration, and celebrate the ongoing evolution of ubiquitous and wearable computing.
The conference’s robust turnout confirmed its status as a central event in the field. Attendees enjoyed a meticulously crafted academic program that delved deeply into all facets of ubiquitous and wearable computing. Highlights included comprehensive workshops and tutorials, a dedicated doctoral colloquium fostering new talent, and an impressive array of posters and demonstrations that showcased the latest research and industry innovations. One of the most anticipated moments was the student challenge, which focused on leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) for ubiquitous sensing and computing.
