Finland ranks number 15 in global comparison

Finland is the most popular Nordic country for hosting international congresses, according to the annual meetings statistics report, published by the Union of International Associations (UIA) in June. Finland ranks 15th, the top three countries being the USA, Belgium and Italy. Finland's Nordic neighbors followed close behind: Sweden ranks 17th, Norway is 19th, and Denmark is 22nd. In the comparison of congress cities, Helsinki ranks 14th.

Solar event space of the future

Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre is growing along with the city of Helsinki and will build Solar, an event space of the future. The approximately 20 million euro construction project is one of the largest investments they have made in recent decades. The bright and high glass-structured event space, designed by Architects Davidsson Tarkela, is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2027.

Helsinki is the world's most sustainable destination

For the second year in a row, Helsinki has been ranked first in the Global Destination Sustainability (GDS) Index. The international GDS Index measures the sustainability of travel destinations in four different categories based on more than 70 indicators.

The Lakeland city of Tampere performed also remarkably, ranking 6th in the Index.
